Young Adult Men’s Group Therapy: Building Connection, Confidence, and Support

A new therapy group for young adult men seeking growth, connection, and a place to feel less alone.

“The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” — Aristotle

If you are a young adult man navigating anxiety, relationships, identity, transitions, loneliness, or the pressure to “have it all figured out,” group therapy can offer something powerful: a supportive space to be real with others who may be facing similar experiences.

During the day, I work as a group therapist. In the evenings, I also practice as an IFS-informed individual therapist, helping clients connect with different parts of themselves with curiosity, compassion, and clarity. I am now in the process of creating a young adult men’s therapy group, with the goal of beginning in early October.

Why Group Therapy for Young Adult Men?

Young adulthood can be exciting, confusing, isolating, and overwhelming all at once. Many men are taught to handle stress quietly, avoid vulnerability, or push through discomfort on their own. A young adult men’s group creates a different kind of space—one where honesty, connection, and emotional growth are welcomed.

Group therapy can be especially helpful for young adult men who want to feel less alone, strengthen relationships, practice communication skills, maintain momentum after IOP or PHP treatment, and learn how to slow down, turn inward, and better attune to themselves and others.

What Makes Group Therapy Powerful?

From the time I first learned about group therapy in undergrad and began running larger psychoeducation-based groups, I knew I was drawn to the process. There is something meaningful about watching people recognize parts of themselves in one another, practice being honest in real time, and discover that they do not have to carry everything alone.

Take a moment to think about a time when you truly felt connected to a group, team, community, or organization. What did that feel like? What made it meaningful? For many people, the experience of belonging can be grounding, motivating, and deeply healing.

A Supportive Space for Growth, Openness, and Connection

My hope for this young adult men’s group is to foster an environment where growth, openness, connection, and safety can develop over time. Safety is not automatic—it is created through consistency, care, respect, and the willingness to show up authentically.

This group will be designed for young adult men who are interested in exploring themselves more deeply, learning from others, and practicing new ways of relating in a supportive therapeutic setting.
