Fee Based on Affordability

The goal of offering a large sliding scale based on affordability is provide more access to folks, while acknowledging the power insurance plays in our health care and how it underpays / undercuts behavioral health clinicians.

I am open to a conversation about the sliding scale to hopefully find an equitable middle ground for us.

Sliding Scale

I like to frame private pay into 2 buckets.

Reparations

People who do not have the means to pay the full rate, but still want meaningful outpatient treatment

Redistribution

People who have the means to pay the full rate and or more

This approach is rooted in honesty and mutual support. The goal is for the two groups to balance each other: those who can pay the full rate help make access possible for those who cannot. This creates a sustainable cycle—if someone receiving a reparations rate later earns more, they can increase their contribution and help support another person who cannot afford the full rate.

The fee can change based on length of session*
